Whole Cyprus

This journey will take us deep into the forests of Troodos, where we will see breathtaking landscapes. Passing the village of Pano Panaya, the birthplace of the first president of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios, we will visit the monastery of the Virgin of Chrysoroyatissa, whose name in Greek means the Virgin of the Golden Garnet. Since ancient times, the pomegranate has symbolized fertility and prosperity in the family. Next, we will make a panoramic stop in Troni, and visit the famous Kykkos monastery, founded in 1092, where one of the miraculous icons of the Virgin Mary is kept.

You can, if you wish, visit the Byzantine Art Museum, famous for its collection of icons and church utensils from the 9th-18th centuries.

Next stop at a restaurant in the mountains, where you will enjoy real Cypriot homemade cuisine and aromatic wine. Then we will get to know the flora and fauna of Troodos.

Further, passing the vineyards on the slopes, we will pass the Commandaria wine region. We will visit one of the local wineries in the village of Omodos, where you can get acquainted with the process of making wine and taste wines from the local vine Marafeftico, Xinesteri, as well as Chardonnay, Cabernet. During a visit to the monastery, open shoulders and knees are not allowed.

And at the end of the program, we will take a photo stop at the birthplace of Aphrodite, where, according to ancient myths and legends, the goddess of love and beauty came ashore. Traveling with us you will learn a lot about the history and culture of the island.
